Monotheism and the Covenant
Judaism is one of the earliest monotheistic religions, meaning it believes in only one God. The history of Judaism begins with the covenant between God and Abraham, which established the Israelites as God's chosen people. This covenant led to the Ten Commandments, which guided ethical behavior and law for Jewish people. Over time, Judaism shaped much of Western moral and ethical thought.
